Relationship Tips for Grown and Successful Women

Do you ever feel like you’re too busy or successful to find the right partner? You’re not alone. Many successful women find it difficult to maintain healthy relationships. It’s important to find someone who understands and supports your goals, and helps you grow as a person.

As a relationship strategist, I often help my clients find partners who uplift them and help them reach new heights. A common thread amongst many of my clients is that they want a partner who is supportive and encouraging, but also someone who will challenge them to be their best selves.

Finding that perfect balance can be difficult, but it’s so important to have a partner who makes you feel good about yourself… and if you’re in a relationship that doesn’t make you feel good, it’s time to reassess what you want and need.

Here are 4 quick tips to help you find a partner that uplifts you.

Know What You Want

It’s important to be clear about what you want in a relationship. Take some time to reflect on the qualities you’re looking for in a partner. Do you want someone who is ambitious and driven, or someone who is more laid-back? What kind of values are important to you? When you know what you’re looking for, it’s easier to find someone who meets your needs.

As a grown woman, you have a responsibility to yourself to be clear about what you want. If you’re not sure, that’s okay – just take some time to figure it out.

Ask for What You Need

This is why it is so important to know what you want. If you don’t ask for what you need, you’ll never get it. Be assertive and tell your partner what you need from them. Too often, we expect our partners to be mind readers, and that’s not fair. If you need more support, tell them. If you need more affection, ask for it. It’s okay to be direct about your needs.

You spend your days making boss moves in your career, its time to start doing the same in your love life.

Understand Your Boundaries

Too many women make the mistake of getting into relationships without understanding their boundaries. This is especially true if you’ve experienced trauma or toxic relationships in the past. It’s important to understand what you’re comfortable with, and what your deal-breakers are. Then, you need to be able to communicate those boundaries to your partner.

Stop Settling

You deserve a partner who makes you feel good about yourself. Someone who makes your heart skip a beat when they walk into a room. This type of love is attainable so don’t settle for anything less. I’ve seen women stay in relationships that are clearly not working, because they’re afraid of being alone. They think that any relationship is better than no relationship, and attache their self-worth to being in a relationship. And so, they settle.

Don’t do that. You deserve better.

The Take Away

As a grown and successful woman, you have the right to be choosy about the partner you want. It’s okay to be assertive and ask for what you need. You also need to understand your boundaries, and know when it’s time to walk away from a relationship that isn’t working.

Don’t settle for anything less than what you deserve.
